, t <br /> 37. No license shall be issued for the sale at retail of any alcoholic liquor within <br /> five hundred (500) feet of any church or school, other than an institution of higher <br /> learning; provided that, this prolubition shall not apply to hotels offering restaurant <br /> service, regularly organized clubs, or to restaurants, food shops or other places <br /> where sale of alcoholic liquors is not the principal business carried on. This <br /> prohibition shall not apply to locations licensed on December 18, 1995, or to <br /> locations where a church or school has been established within 500 feet since the <br /> issuance of the most recent license. The distance of 500 feet shall be measured <br /> from the property boundary of the licensed premises to the property boundary of <br /> the church or school, except for premises located within the main building of a <br /> shopping center of 35,000 square feet or more in gross floor area, the distance <br /> shall be measured from the lease line of the licensed premises to the building line of <br /> the church or school. <br /> Section 2.
