Stewart,Transportation Planner r.,S� <br /> J <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises commonly lrnown as 2954 West Ash Avenue <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce , <br /> a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. ' <br /> BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the <br /> City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 76.84 acres, the property will be a future church site. <br /> Annexation is requested for connection to City water. The property to the south is zoned R-1 Single <br /> Family Residence District and M-1, Intense Commercial-Light Industrial District; property to the north, <br /> west and east is in the County; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family <br /> Residence District. The following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. The parcel is currently vacant. <br /> 2. City water will be available to the site and is expected to be extended in the future. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is not available. <br /> 4. The average fire response time is seven(7.9)minutes. Warrensburg is the Fire <br /> Protection District. <br /> 5. Currently the street is unimproved. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department <br /> and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Joselyn Stewart at 424- <br /> 2782,laste«�art(�i;decaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: None. <br />
