Perry, Purchasing Supervisora� <br /> SUBJECT: Bids on mini-van <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Bob Ridings <br /> to furnish one (1) 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan mini-van. <br /> BACKGROUND: This vehicle will be used by Community Development Block Grant <br /> Division. It will replace a 199� Chevrolet Corsica and a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier currently in <br /> service. Since HUD money will be used for this purchase their guidelines are explicit regarding <br /> procurements. Section 85.36 of the Federal Register states that bids are to be awarded to the <br /> lowest responsible bidder without regard to in-state or local geographical preferences. If these <br /> guidelines are not followed, the City could lose its federal fundinQ. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Vehicle requested by CDBG. Fleet Maintenance wrote <br /> the bid specifications. Both recommend approval of the bid. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Phil Wilhelm, IvISC Manaaer 87�-4820. Tom Serfass, Fleet <br /> Supervisor 87�-�718. Tom Serfass will be at the council meeting to answer questions the <br /> council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $17,�89.00 from the Equipment Replacement Fund. <br />
