Miller, AICP, Senior Planner {�q.� I <br /> ' -I <br /> SUBJECT: Illinois Historic Preservation Agency <br /> Certified Local Government Grant Application <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the resolution authorizing <br /> the grant application for a West End Tour Brochure. <br /> BACKGROUND: Upon City Council approval, the attached resolutions will authorize the filing <br /> of a United States Department of the Interior's Historic Preservation Grants-in-Aid (70/30 match) <br /> with the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency. The grant will be used to develop a tour brochure <br /> highlighting the West End National Register Historic District similar to the one for the Decatur <br /> National Register District. The required matching funds will be part of the HASC budget for the <br /> 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 fiscal years. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objectors to the brochure. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Kathy Miller at <br /> 424-2786 or at kjmiller@decaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: The proposed total budget for the brochure development is <br /> $18,050. The federal match for the grant is $12,635; the City match is $5,415 that will be <br /> budgeted in the HASC budget or through volunteers. If funding is granted, the project is <br /> schedule for completion by April, 2007. <br />
