Berard, Civil Engineer II � <br /> SUBJECT: Lake Decatur Dam 2005 Annual Inspection <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing <br /> an agreement with Hanson Professional Services, Inc., (Hanson), to conduct the Lake <br /> Decatur Dam and Sediment Basin Dam 2005 Annual Inspection for a fee not to exceed <br /> $7,500.00. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Office of Water Resources, requires an annual <br /> inspection and report submittal far the Lake Decatur Dam and Sediment Basin Dam. In <br /> order to annually obtain objective professional opinions of the condition of the dam, the City <br /> has informally rotated the inspection award among several engineering firms. This year, City <br /> staff recommends awarding the contract to Hanson Professional Services, Inc. <br /> The amount of activity that is necessary to perform the inspections and prepare the inspection , <br /> reports will be held to that minimum required to satisfy the regulatory requirements of the �,, <br /> Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Office of Water Resources. ', <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Department of Water Management. <br />
