Travis Stanley, Civil Engineer I�j� <br /> Mi� i <br /> SUBJECT: Twickingham Drive Storm Drainage Improvements, City Project OS-12 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution awarding the <br /> contract for the Twickingham Drive Storm Drainage Improvements, City Project OS-12, to <br /> McIntire & Company Contractors as the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of <br /> $90,777.00 and that the Mayor be authorized to execute the contract, and the City Clerk to <br /> attest. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> � The nei borhood around Twickin am Drive has rimaril surface storm draina e with <br /> � � P Y g <br /> several deep ditches that prove hard to maintain and control. At several locations, erosion is <br /> undermining the road shoulder, which proves to be a maintenance difficulty and a source of <br /> resident complaints. The Twickingham Drive Storm Drainage Improvement project is aimed at <br /> removing the deep ditches and erosion in the area by installing storm sewers in the problem <br /> areas. <br /> The project plans and specifications were prepared by City staff. The project was advertised on <br /> July 20, 2005 and bids were opened on August 5, 2005.
