Berard, Civil Engineer II �'� SUBJECT: Amendment to Agreement with Hanson Professional Services, Inc. for Lake Decatur Dam Repairs, City Project 04-20 SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing an amendment to an agreement with Hanson Professional Services, Inc., to extend their scope of work to include construction supervision during the contract for the Lake Decatur Dam Repairs , for a sum not to exceed $27,300.00, and that the Mayor be authorized to execute the agreement, ! and the City Clerk to attest. I BACKGROUND: In September, 2004, the City Council awarded an Engineering Services Agreement to Hanson Professional Services for the preparation of design drawings and specifications for the Lake Decatur Dam Repair Project. The design phase has now been completed. The project was advertised and bids opened on May 3, 2005. It is proposed to proceed with the construction phase of the project upon award of the contract. Given the specialized nature of the project, City staff requires the assistance of a qualified Engineering Consultant for assistance during construction. Hanson Professional Services, Inc. submitted an estimate for additional engineering services during construction. City Engineering is of the opinion that the amount of$27,300.00 is fair compensation for the inspection services to be provided.
