Alexander, Director of Water Management C� <br /> SUBJECT: Water System Improvements Phase I—City Project W03-28 <br /> Engineering Services Agreement Amendment No. 1 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Council adopt the attached Resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to the Engineering Services <br /> Agreement for Water System Improvements - Phase I with Strand Associates for a cost not to , <br /> exceed $120,000. �'� <br /> BACKGROUND: ' <br /> As presented to Council last April, this project is Phase I of a combination of Water System ��, <br /> Security Improvements, South Water Treatment Plant SCADA Improvements and a Water I <br /> Distribution System Monitoring Network. The construction bids were opened on January 7 and � <br /> a bid award recommendation is on the February 7 Council agenda. Amendment No. 1 is <br /> required so that Strand Associates can provide contractor quality control, equipment startup and <br /> testing support, and construction administrative services. Strand Associates is highly <br /> recommended as they recently completed the engineering and design services for this project. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: <br /> None foreseen. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> Strand Associates. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: <br /> Keith D.
