Perry, Purchasing Supervisor�Q ',, <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for Environmental Control System <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Tica Inc. to <br /> furnish a 2005 Liebert DH138W environmental control system. <br /> BACKGROUND: This unit will replace an Ed-Pak unit which is almost 26 years old. The <br /> older unit has had numerous repairs and parts are hard to obtain and in some instances <br /> unavailable. <br /> This environmental control system will be used to control the temperature and humidity in the <br /> computer room in the MIS Division at the Civic Center. It is critical to have the pioper <br /> environment for the sensitive electronics housed in the computer room. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Mike Pritchett from the Decatur Civic Center wrote the <br /> bid specifications and recommends approval of low bidder. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Ron Neufeld, Financial Management Director 424-2702 will be at the <br /> city council meeting to answer questions the council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $19,862 from General Fund <br />
