Berard, Civil Engineer II �3 <br /> " � <br /> SUBJECT: Water Main Extension in Northeast Decatur, City Project 2001-02 <br /> Acquisition of Easements from Wayne B. Phillips <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution <br /> authorizing the payment of $5,325 for the acquisition of permanent and temporary <br /> easements from Wayne B. Phillips located in Section 23, Township 17, Range 2 East of <br /> the Third Prime Meridian in Macon County. The easements consist of a strip of land <br /> adj acent to Hickory Point Road 2,640 feet in length totaling approximately 1.82 acres. ' <br /> The above mentioned payment also includes compensation for crop damages. The ' <br /> acquisition of these easmements is necessary for the construction of a water main , <br /> extension project in Northeast Decatur. , <br /> BACKGROUND: '� <br /> In May 2002, Strand Associates, engineering consultants, submitted a report entitled, ', <br /> "Water System Master Plan". This report recommends the construction of water main �,, <br /> improvements towards the north and the east to reduce significant hydraulic losses in that ', <br /> area. Staff is proceeding with the design of these improvements and it is necessary to , <br /> acquire easements to accommodate the construction of the proposed water main '� <br /> extension. The easement agreement also provides compensation for crop damages that � <br /> will be incurred when the water main is installed. ' <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this I, <br /> resolution and bid award. <br />
