Newell, P.E., City Engineer1'L� V" SUBJECT: Annual Sewer Television Inspection Program Contract Amendment, City Project 04-19 SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution approving an increase to the contract amount with Tele Scan, Inc., for the Annual Sewer Television Inspection Contract, City Project 04-19. The resolution authorizes the City Manager and the Director of Engineering & Infrastructure to increase the existing $200,000 contract amount by$100,000 to a maximum$300,000 in order to continue televising work in the City sewers. BACKGROUND: On April 19, 2004, the City Council awarded a contract to Tele Scan, Inc., for Annual Sewer Television Inspection for Fiscal Year 2005. The contract authorized the expenditure of up to $200,000 for the inspection of sanitary sewer lines, manhole inspections and other sewer inspection work. To date, Tele Scan has completed the video inspection of over 106,466 feet of sewer and has res onded to over 73 sewer ins ection emer enc calls. Emer enc ins ection P P g Y g Y P calls are generally used to investigate sinkholes, blocked sewer services or mains, maintenance I problems and some residential complaints.
