Newell, P.E., City Engineer1'L� <br /> V" <br /> SUBJECT: Annual Sewer Television Inspection Program Contract Amendment, <br /> City Project 04-19 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution approving an <br /> increase to the contract amount with Tele Scan, Inc., for the Annual Sewer Television Inspection <br /> Contract, City Project 04-19. The resolution authorizes the City Manager and the Director of <br /> Engineering & Infrastructure to increase the existing $200,000 contract amount by$100,000 to a <br /> maximum$300,000 in order to continue televising work in the City sewers. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> On April 19, 2004, the City Council awarded a contract to Tele Scan, Inc., for Annual Sewer <br /> Television Inspection for Fiscal Year 2005. The contract authorized the expenditure of up to <br /> $200,000 for the inspection of sanitary sewer lines, manhole inspections and other sewer <br /> inspection work. To date, Tele Scan has completed the video inspection of over 106,466 feet of <br /> sewer and has res onded to over 73 sewer ins ection emer enc calls. Emer enc ins ection <br /> P P g Y g Y P <br /> calls are generally used to investigate sinkholes, blocked sewer services or mains, maintenance <br /> I problems and some residential complaints.
