Geological Survey Joint Funding Agreement for Streamflow <br /> Gaging Stations <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing a Joint Funding Agreement with the U. S. <br /> Geological Survey at a cost of$10,860. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The U. S. Geological Survey operates streamflow gaging stations on the Sangamon River at <br /> Monticello, Illinois and the State Route 48 Bridge downstream of the Lake Decatur Dam. The <br /> stations are essential for monitoring the amount of water entering and leaving Lake Decatur. For <br /> approximately 17 years, the City has participated in similar Joint Funding Agreements in order to <br /> provide adequate funding to operate the two stations. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: <br /> None foreseen. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> U.
