Newell,P.E., City Engineer� <br /> SUBJECT: East Court Drainage Improvements, City Project 04-11 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution <br /> awarding the contract for East Court Drainage Improvements, City Project 04-11, to <br /> Hutchens Bulldozing, Inc., as the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of$21,933.00, <br /> and that the Mayor be authorized to execute the contract, and the City Clerk to attest. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Over the past few years, the City has received repeated drainage complaints regarding <br /> poor storm water drainage in the area north of Mound Road, between Warren Street and <br /> East Court Street. Storm water flow is poorly defined in the area which inconveniences <br /> several properties. City Engineering proposes to install a storm sewer extension from <br /> East Court to Warren in order to increase the drainage in the area. 'I <br /> The project plans and specifications were prepared by Engineering Division staff. The � <br /> project was advertised August 5, 2004, and bids were opened on August 26, 2004.
