ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS TIME AND PLACE OF OPENING BIDS: Sealed proposals for the project described herein will be received at the City Purchasing Division located on the first floor of the Civic Center, #1 Gary K. Anderson Plaza, Decatur, IL 62523,unti112:00 PM Noon Wednesday,August 11 and thereafter publicly open and read. DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: The proposed project is officially known as: THE DECATUR WILDFLOWER INITIATIVE PLANTING PROJECT (this is not a project of the Engineering and Infrastructure Dept. and does not have a City Project number) The proposed project herein specified and described includes the following work: Installation, planting and initial watering of wildflower forbs and wildflower grasses in Illinois Department of Transportation right-of-way at three locations: 1) the I- 72Busn. US 51 interchange; 2) the east entrance to the City at West US Higway 36, east of Wyckles Road; and 3) the intersection of South Busn. US 51 and IL 105/South Side Drive/Franklin Street. INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS: il 1. Plans, specifications and proposal forms may be obtained for the Long Range Planning i Manager, Economic and Urban Development Department, on the Third Floor of the �, Decatur Civic Center, #1 Gary K. Anderson Plaza, Decatur, Illinois 62523. ' 2. There will be no charge for a copy of the bid package. ' 3. The City of Decatur's D�partment of Economic and Urban Development, Long Range Planning Division will not release the Landscape Architect's Estimate of Cost in advance of the scheduled time and date of the bid opening. Bidders submitting a proposal will be ' sent a copy of the bid tabulation after the award of a contract has been approved by the City Council. All other interested parties may request a copy of the bid tabulation after the City Council has approved an award of a contract. 4. All proposals must be accompanied by a BANK DRAFT, CASHIER'S CHECK, OR CERTIFIED CHECK made payable to the Treasurer, City of Decatur, Illinois, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid, or a BID BOND in the same amount. 5. The contractor shall at all times during the term of this contract pay the applicable prevailing wage for Macon County for the month during which the work is performed, as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor.
