Perry, Purchasing Supervisor�i�,� <br /> SUBJECT: Demolition of Property <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Steve's <br /> Trucking, Inc. to remove asbestos, do necessary plumbing and demolish the property located at <br /> 1349-1355 N. Poole. <br /> BACKGROUND: On April 5, 2004, City Council awarded a contract to demolish the property <br /> at 1349-1355 N. Poole. However, the contractors bidding the original project misinterpreted the <br /> asbestos and building survey provided to them. Since additional asbestos abatement was <br /> required, new specifications clarifying the problem were prepared and the project was rebid. <br /> Staff is requesting City Council amend resolution R2004-57 dated April 5, 2004, which awarded <br /> a contract to Don Roderick, Inc. for $7600, to reflect these changes for Steve's Trucking, Inc. for <br /> $17,900. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Neighborhood Inspections requested the demolition be <br /> done. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Dave Griffiths, Neighborhood Inspections Administrator 424-2794, <br /> Deborah M. Perry, Purchasing Supervisor 424-2762. Dave Griffiths will be at the council <br /> meeting to answer any questions the council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $17,900 from CDBG Fund. <br />
