Perry, Purchasing Supervisor;�,�' <br /> SUBJECT: Landscape Waste Disposal Bids <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding a contract to Evans <br /> Recycling, Inc. for landscape waste disposal services listed on Exhibit A. The contract period <br /> will be from July 20, 2004 - July 19, 2007. <br /> BACKGROUND: The material or waste for this service is generated from City operations only <br /> and not from other private businesses working in the City. The type of landscape waste materials <br /> generated include the following: <br /> - Unchipped tree trunks and limbs. <br /> - Unchipped brush and undergrowth. <br /> - Tree stumps and logs removed from Lake Decatur. <br /> - Leaves collected from City streets and properties. <br /> - Miscellaneous landscape waste from flower beds and planting areas. <br /> - Tree and brush chips. <br /> Evans Recycling, Inc. has provided landscape waste disposal services in the past and their work <br /> has been acceptable. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Engineering Division wrote the specifications and <br /> recommends approval of contract. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Steve Swanson, Engineering & Infrastructure Director 424-2747, <br /> Deborah M. Perry, Purchasing Supervisor 424-2762. Steve Swanson will be at the meeting to <br /> answer questions the City Council may have about this contract. <br /> BUDGET: General Fund. I <br />
