This weighting system is based on the
estimated total miles expected to be driven for each tire size. (This estimate is based on
the number of miles driven, per tire,by tire size, from April, 2003, through March, 2004.)
The weighting system for scoring the bids is as follows:
2003-2004
TIRE SIZE: TIRE MILES: WEIGHT:
1. 9R22.5.....:............................... 242,328 ............................ 4%
2. 12R22.5................................... 2,068,722 ............................ 33%
3. 275/70R22.5............................ 3,991,590 ............................. 63%
TOTAL......................................... 6,302,640 ............................ 100%
The bid rate for each tire size, as shown on the submitted bid, shall be multiplied by the
appropriate weight, shown above, to obtain a score for each tire size. The total score for each year of the
lease will be calculated separately, and the total scores for each year will be added
together to calculate the bidder's five-year score. The lowest bidder shall be determined
to be the bidder with the lowest five-year score.
1
