Berard,Civil Engineer II /� <br /> v�� <br /> SUBJECT: Purchase of Easements from Jurg and Margrit Padrutt <br /> City Project 2001-02,Water Main Extension in Northeast Decatur <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing the payment <br /> to Jurg and Margrit Padrutt in the amount of $6,460 for the purchase of easements totaling <br /> approximately 2.5 acres and for damage to crops. This expenditure is necessary for the Water <br /> Main Extension in Northeast Decatur, City Project 2001-02. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The City is planning to construct a water main to serve the Northeast area. The water main <br /> extension will begin south of I-72 on Brush College Road and extend to Hickory Point Road and <br /> follow Hickory Point Road west to the City limits. Permanent and temporary easements are <br /> required for the construction of the water main on private property owned by Jurg and Margrit <br /> Padrutt. Compensation is also required for crop damages. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this agreement. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Norm Lienemann,NDL Real Estate Consultant, Inc. <br />' STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 424-2747 <br /> The City Engineer, Matt Newell, will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any <br /> questions of the Council on this item. <br />
