Alexander, Director of Water Management I�/� <br /> Y1 <br /> SUBJECT: Drinking Water Monitoring Laboratory Services Agreement <br /> PDC Laboratories, Inc. <br /> Summary Recommendation: <br /> Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing PDC Laboratories, Inc. to provide laboratory <br /> services for compliance with the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act and IEPA testing <br /> requirements. <br /> Background: <br /> In the past, the City has enrolled annually in the IEPA's Community Water Supply Testing Fund. <br /> This fiscal year's fees are $17,100. They will be $17,550 next fiscal year. City staff has <br /> negotiated with PDC Laboratories to provide an equivalent level of service for $18,147 for a <br /> three year period, which will reduce the City's monitoring costs by an estimated $34,503 over <br /> the course of the three year agreement. PDC Laboratories is an accredited NELAC laboratory <br /> that maintains a close warking relationship with the IEPA Water Quality Compliance Section. <br /> Potential Ob j ections: <br /> None foreseen. <br /> Input from Other Sources: <br /> City staff contacted the following PDC references, all of which reported great satisfaction with <br /> PDC's laboratory services: Charleston, Mattoon, and Taylorville Water Departments. <br /> Staff Reference: <br /> Keith D.
