Nooden, P.E.,Assistant City Engineer , ' ,�,�' <br /> SUBJECT: Water Main Extension Heritage Road, City Project 2003-25 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution awarding the <br /> contract for Water Main Extension Heritage Road, City Project 2003-25, to Bodine Services, <br /> Inc., as the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of $253,571.75, and that the Mayor be <br /> authorized to execute the contract, and the City Clerk to attest. <br /> BACKGROUND: I <br /> City project 2003-25, Water Main Extension Heritage Road, consists of the installation of new <br /> water mains and appurtenances to complete a looped system from existing water mains presently <br /> terminating at Forrest Crest Road and Taylor Road. In addition to facilitating accessibility to the , <br /> City's water distribution system for local residents and future development, the extension will , <br /> improve water quality and flow characteristics of the system. <br /> The project plans and specifications were prepared by City Engineering staff. The project was <br /> advertised March 10, 2004, and bids were opened on March 29, 2004.
