 ' ^
COUNCIL COMMUNICATION FORM
Engineering & Infrastructure Memorandum
NO. 2004-24
March 8, 2004
TO: Honorable Mayor Osborne and City Council
FROM: Steve Garman., City Manager
Steve Swanson, P. E.,Director of Engineering & Infrastructurel
Matthew C. Newell, P. E., City Engineer
, SUBJECT: Water Service Agreement for 1935 S. Taylorville Road
SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing a
Water Service Agreement between the City of Decatur and property owners for 1935 S.
Taylorville Road.
BACKGROUND:
In the spring of 2002 the City extended a 12 inch water main down Forest Crest Drive as part of a I
phased approach toward creating a water main interconnection on the south side of the City
between Route 48 and Route 51. As is typical with these extensions, residents periodically
request permission to tap into these water lines to service properties which are located outside of
the City limits. To service properties outside of the City limits, a Water Service Agreement must
be entered into between the City and the property owners.
POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections to this
resolution and agreement.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None
STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 424-2747
