Perry, Purchasing Supervisor�'Q <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for Furnace Replacement <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Tica, Inc. to <br /> furnish one (1) 2004 Trane furnace replacement, move an existing unit and provide the necessary <br /> duct work at Fire Station#5 located at 225 Christine Drive. <br /> BACKGROUND: The furnace will replace one that was installed in 1988. The underground <br /> duct was installed in the mid 1960's and consists of 8" clay tile. Ground water has infiltrated the <br /> existing duct work. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The furnace replacement was requested by the Fire <br /> Department and they wrote the bid specifications. They recommend approval of bid. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Les Albert, Fire Chief 424-2811 and Mark Hansen, Deputy Fire Chief <br /> 424-2811 will be at the council meeting to answer any questions the council may have about this <br /> purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $7556 from the Public Works capital budget. <br />
