 , .
COUNCIL COMMUNICATION FORM
Engineering & Infrastructure Memorandum
NO. 2003-68
November 12, 2003
TO: Honorable Mayor Osborne and City Council
FROM: Steve Garman., City Manager (
Steve Swanson, P. E.,Director of Engineering & Infrastructure Ov
Matthew C. Newell,P. E., City EngineerGG
SUBJECT: Water Service Agreement for: 3020 S. Forest Crest Road
2516 Midiron Drive
2542 Midiron Drive
2552 Midiron Drive
SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing a
Water Service Agreement between the City of Decatur and property owners for 3020 S. Forest
Crest Road, 2516 Midiron Drive, 2542 Midiron Drive and 2552 Midiron Drive.
BACKGROUND:
In the spring of 2002 the City extended a 12 inch water main down Forest Crest Drive as part of a
phased approach toward creating a water main interconnection on the south side of the City
between Route 48 and Route 51. Water lines were extended down Allison Drive and Midiron I
Drive as part of City Project 2003-01 in response to water service requests. As is typical with I
these extensions, residents periodically request permission to tap into these water lines to service I
properties which are located outside of the City limits. To service properties outside of the City ,
limits, a Water Service Agreement must be entered into between the City and the property ,
owners.
POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections to this
resolution and agreement.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None
