Perry,Purchasing Supervisor�;� <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for Tandem Dump Beds, Plows & Spreaders <br /> SUMMARY RECONIlV�NDATION: Staff recommends awardin contract to Koeni Bod & <br /> g g Y <br />' Equipment to furnish two (2) 2003 tandem Henderson dump beds, Wausaw plows and Svendsen <br /> spreaders. <br /> BACKGROUND: This equipment will be used in conjunction with the tandem dump truck <br /> chassis. This equipment will replace 1994 dump trucks currently in service. In the past, dump <br /> trucks have been purchased as a complete unit with the chassis and the dump bodies together. , <br /> The MSC manager wanted to split the units apart and bid the beds separate from the chassis. The , <br /> reason for this is that he substantially changed the type of truck bed, spreader controls and plows I <br /> to improve safety and increase productivity. ' <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None. I'� <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Street Department requested the replacements and Fleet <br /> Maintenance wrote the specifications. Both recommend approval of bids. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Phil Wilhelm, MSC Manager 875-4820, Deborah M. Perry, Purchasing <br /> Supervisor 424-2762. Phil Wilhelm will be at the council meeting to answer any questions the <br /> council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $98,226 from Equipment Replacement Fund. <br />
