Alexander,Director of Water Management � <br /> SUBJECT: Division & Garfield Streets Elevated Water Storage Tank Cleaning and <br /> Inspection <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with Tank Industry <br /> Consultants, Inc. to perform a cleaning and inspection of the City's two elevated water tanks at a cost not <br /> to exceed$6,440. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The tanks require this routine maintenance which was last performed in 1998. Several weeks ago staff <br /> issued requests for proposals to four firms, all of which responded. The proposals were evaluated with <br /> two firms receiving high scores: Tank Industry Consultants (TIC) and Dixon Engineering. TIC received <br /> 48 out of 50 possible points and Dixon received 46. Although both firms are highly qualified to perform <br /> these services, staff recommends TIC due to their higher evaluation score and long term familiarity with <br /> the City's water system. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: <br /> None foreseen. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> The four firms which submitted proposals. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: <br /> Keith D.
