AGREEMENT FOR ENGINEERING REPORT SERVICES <br /> FOR THE <br /> CITY OF DECATUR <br /> LOST BRIDGE SANITARY SEWER S DY <br /> �jh-- ,_ �� �/ <br /> THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this�✓/ day o �"'�-r"�'��, 2003, by and <br /> between the CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS, hereinafter referred to as the "CIT'Y," and <br /> BAINBRIDGE, GEE, MILANSKI & ASSOCIATES, INC., 1670 South Taylorville Road, <br /> Decatur, Illinois 62521, hereinafter referred to as the "ENGINEER," covers professional <br /> engineering services in connection with the preparation of a sewer infiltration and inflow study <br /> hereinafter referred to as the "PROJECT". <br /> /� � <br /> Said Project has been designated CITY PROJECT ✓ v V � ( �P and includes the <br /> study of excess flow in the sanitary sewer system which is tributary to the Lost Bridge Pumping <br /> Station. This area contains approximately 124,000 feet of sewers and 355 manholes. <br /> THEREFORE, in consideration of these premises and of the mutual covenants herein set forth: <br /> THE ENGINEER AGREES: <br /> 1. To perform the following engineering services: <br /> a. Conduct flow and level monitoring of 7 key manholes for 2 months to determine wet <br /> weather flows. The flow meters sha11 be furnished by the City. <br /> b. Record rainfall over the flow monitoring period to correlate increases in sewer flow <br /> with wet weather. <br /> c. Smoke test appro�mately 62,000 feet of sewers in the study area to locate inflow <br /> points. <br /> d. Estimate base line flow, peak infiltration rates and peak inflow rates. <br /> e. Computer model the drainage system to identify problem areas. <br /> f. Calculate sewer capacity form City records. <br /> g. Review the recent videotapes of the sewers and summarize the condition of the <br /> sewers. <br /> h. If found to be needed, estimate the cost of a sewer rehabilitation program and project <br /> the reduction in infiltration and inflow. <br /> i. Compare the cost of I!I removal to the cost of transporting and treating the added <br /> flow at the sewage treatment plant. The transport and treat alternative will include <br /> ways to increase sewer capacity. <br /> BGM 03-087 ENG AGREE - 1 <br />
