- MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING - <br /> Decatur Public Transit System <br /> On Apri123, 2003, at 4:00 p.m. a public hearing was held in the conference room of the Transit <br /> Administration Building, 555 E. Wood Street, Decatur, Illinois. The purpose of the public <br /> hearing was to receive public comment on Decatur's intention to file mass transit operating and <br /> capital assistance grant applications with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA)and with the <br /> Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). <br /> The City intends to request $944,905 in federal financial assistance to offset the operating deficit <br /> of the Transit System's $3.5 million operating expenses for FY 2003. The City also intends to <br /> request $62,000 in capital assistance to help finance the following: <br /> 1) $2,000 to purchase a medium duty trailer; <br /> 2) $8,000 to purchase miscellaneous shop equipment; and <br /> 3) $52,000 to purchase a service truck. <br /> And the City intends to file a mass transit capital assistance grant application with the Illinois <br /> De artment of Tr <br /> p ansportation, to match the federal ant. The Cit intends to re uest $15 500 in <br /> �' Y Q � <br /> capital assistance for the following: <br /> 1) $500 to purchase a medium duty trailer; <br /> 2) $2,000 to purchase miscellaneous shop equipment; and <br /> 3) $13,000 to purchase a service truck. <br /> The notice of the meeting was published in the Decatur Herald & Review newspaper on April 11th. <br /> The hearing was opened at 4:00 p.m. by Paul McChancy, Mass Transit Administrator; the hearing <br /> was officially closed at 4:30 p.m. No comments were received. <br /> The published notice also stated that written comments would be accepted by mail,by FAX, and <br /> by e-mail unti15:00 p.m, on the day of the hearing,Apri123rd.
