Lo e,Neighborhood Servi es Dir tor <br /> SUBJECT: SALE AND PURCHASE OF PROPERTY <br /> IN THE NEAR NORTH REDEVELOPMENT AREA <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends approval of the attached Resolution authorizing the sale of the property <br /> located at 330 E. Leafland, 349 E. Grand, and 355 E. Grand to Foursquare Gospel Church and <br /> the purchase of 1162 N. Warren, 406 E. Leafland, 1218 N. Warren, 439 E. Leafland, 437 E. <br /> Leafland, and the lot next to 437 E. Le�fland from Foursquare Gospel Church. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Foursquare Gospel Church property, described above, is located in the Wabash Crossing <br /> Phase I construction area of the Near North Redevelopment Project. The City of Decatur owns <br /> the three parcels located north of Foursquare Gospel Church. The city-owned property, 330 E. <br /> Leafland, 349 E. Grand, and 355 E. Grand were purchased with federal funds. The purchase of <br /> 1162 N. Warren, 406 E. Leafland, 1218 N. Warren, 439 E. Leafland, 437 E. Leafland and the lot <br /> next to 437 E. Leafland will complete the Wabash Crossing acquisition. Doing so will <br /> "square-off' the Phase 1 area and make for a more logical and consistent boundary. The City's <br /> CDBG funds will pay $18,350 for all the parcels. Foursquare Gospel Church will pay $4,500 for <br /> 330 E. Leafland, 349 E. Grand, and 355 E. Grand. Appraisals were performed on the properties <br /> shown above. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: <br /> Notice of potential sale of the City property was publicized as required by the federal funding <br /> source. The community was provided and opportunity to comment on the potential sale. No <br /> comments or questions were received. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: N/A <br />
