Perry,Purchasing Supervisor� <br /> SUBJECT: Contract for Compost Disposal <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding a contract to Evans <br /> Recycling, Inc. to dispose of compost materials including tree branches, tree trunks, leaves and <br /> brush. The contract period will be from March 4, 2003 -March 3, 2004. <br /> BACKGROUND: On February 1, 2002 a contract was awarded to Ramer Brothers <br /> Environmental Recycling to dispose of the compost materials. The contract with Romers was <br /> rescinded for cause on February 3, 2003. <br /> Evans Recyclin , Inc. has taken over the com ost site previously operated by Romer Brothers. <br /> g P <br />, Evans has a eed to rovide this same service to the City under an identical contract. They have <br /> �' P <br /> also agreed to the same pricing structure the City had on the previous contract. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Forestry Division recommends approval of contract. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Phil Wilhelm, MSC Manager 875-4820, Randy Callison, City Forester <br /> 875-4820. Randy Callison will be at the meeting to answer questions the city council may have <br /> about this contract. <br /> BUDGET: $4.75 per cubic yard(December 16 - October 14) <br /> $3.75 per cubic yard(October 15 -December 15) from General Fund. <br />
