Economic & Urban Development Department Memorandum <br /> # 03-14 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Terry M. Howley and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Steve Garman, City Manager <br /> A.J. Krieger,Assistant City Manager <br /> SUBJECT: Procurement of Engineering Services for Mound/51 Project <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Approval of the attached resolution will authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute an <br /> agreement for engineering services related to the Mound/51 project. The City Manager's <br /> authority would be capped at $15,000. City staff recommends approval. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> As Council will recall, Resolution R2002-168 authorized the City Manager to execute an <br /> agreement with Cochran Engineering for civil engineering services related to the preparation of a <br /> Mound/51 project detailed site plan. The cost of that agreement was not to exceed $20,000, and <br /> that work has been completed. Cochran Engineering provided services necessary to complete <br /> pre-development work with Target Corp. <br /> Now that Target Corp. has approved the Decatur project, a Planned Development submittal and <br /> minor plat subdivision must be prepared. Pending approval of this resolution, that work will <br />, commence immediately and proceed toward April consideration of the final Planned <br /> Development site plan and subdivision. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: <br /> City staff is not aware of any opposition to the attached resolution. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> N/A <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: <br /> If Council members have questions they may contact A.J. Krieger, 424-2727, <br /> ajkriegerna decaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Sufficient funds for these engineering services are available within the Economic Development <br /> Division FY 02-03 budget. <br />
