Newell, P.E., City Engineer� <br /> SUBJECT: MFT Resolution Authorizing the Allocation of Funds for the City's Portion <br /> of the Improvement of Traffic Signals at Various Intersections in the City <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> An item on the agenda for the November 4, 2002 City Council meeting is a resolution <br /> authorizing the allocation of funds from the City's Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) Fund to pay the City's <br /> portion of the costs for the proposed improvements as described in Agreement No. JN-502015 <br /> with the State of Illinois acting through its Department of Transportation. This agreement <br /> between the City of Decatur and the State of Illinois covers the proposed improvement to traffic <br /> signals on Eldorado (IJ.S. Route 36) from West Eldorado / Rt. 36 to Martin Luther King, Jr. <br /> Drive; on 22nd Street / Eldorado Street; on Rt. 36 from 22nd Street to Wood Street; and at the <br /> intersection of Brush College Road/William Street. <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing the <br /> allocation of $60,270 in MFT funds to pay the City's portion of costs associated with the <br /> proposed installation of traffic signals at the various intersections in the City. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) requires a resolution specifically authorizing <br /> the expenditure of funds from the City's MFT Fund. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution. <br />
