COUNCIL COMMUNICATION FORM
Engineering & Infrastructure Memorandum
NO. 2002 - 62
August 20, 2002
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Steve Garman., City Manager
Steve Swanson, P. E.,Director of Engineering & Infrastructure
Matthew C. Newell, P. E., City Engineer
SUBJECT: Water Service Agreement for 4363 West Center Street,
Sharon United Methodist Church
SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing a
Water Service Agreement between the City of Decatur and the Sharon United Methodist Church
located at 4363 West Center Street.
BACKGROUND:
In 1998 the City extended a 12 inch water main on North Wyckles Road as part of an annual
water main extension project. As is typical with these extensions, properties along these water
line extensions periodically request permission to tap into the new line to service their properties
which are located outside of the City limits. To service these properties, a Water Service
Agreement must be entered into between the City and the property owners.
POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections to this
resolution and agreement.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None
