Perry,Purchasing Supervisor� � <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for Dredge Tender and Fuel Barge <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding a contract to Ellicott, <br /> Division of Baltimore Dredges, LLC to furnish a dredge tender and a fuel barge. <br /> BACKGROUND: This equipment is for the Lake Decatur dredging project. It will be used in <br /> conjunction with the cutterhead dredge ordered previously. <br /> Ellicott will employ the services of Maxine Design, Inc., a naval architectural firm for design and <br /> drawings of the dredge tender and fuel barge. This firm has also been recommended by the <br /> City's dredge equipment consulta.nt. <br /> Ellicott will sublet all the assembly to a firm in Republic, Missouri. Since this is within close <br /> driving distance from Decatur, city staff or their consultant could inspect the assembly if <br /> necessary. <br /> Ellicott's bid is complete and they have provided the necessary bonding requirements. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Dredging Specialists Inc. wrote the bid specifications <br /> with assistance from city staff. Water Management approves this purchase. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Keith Alexander, Water Management Director 424-2863. John A. <br /> Smith and Keith Alexander will be at the council meeting to answer any questions the council <br /> may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $243,750.00 from the Lake Capital Project Fund. <br />
