Lo e, Neighborhood Servi irector ��� <br /> SUBJECT: Phase II Environmental Assessment for the Near North Redevelopment Project <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends approval of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into an <br /> agreement with Bodine Environmental Services, Inc., in the amount of $5,750, for a Phase II <br /> environmental assessment for three properties which may have an impact on the Phase I <br /> construction area of the Near North Redevelopment Project. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> A Phase I environmental assessment of the Near North Redevelopment Project area was <br /> performed on behalf of Eastlake Management& Development Corporation by Randolph& <br /> Associates, Inc. The assessment identified three sites which require a Phase II environmental <br /> assessment before proceeding with Phase I construction: 860 E. Grand, 644 E. Leafland and 820 <br /> E. Condit. City staff requested bids from three companies who perform these services: Bodine , <br /> Environmental Services, Inc., Randolph& Associates, and Wilson&Wilson Consulting& <br /> Contracting. Bodine Environmental Services was the lowest bidder, in the amount of$5,750. <br /> Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds will be used for the contract. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: I <br /> City staff is not aware of any objection to the contract. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> Phase I environmental assessment of the Neaz North Redevelopment Project, federal and state ;i <br /> guidelines. � <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: <br /> If the City Council has any questions, they may contact A. J. Krieger, Assistant City Manager, or <br /> Linda Love, Neighborhood Services Director. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> CDBG funds, in the amount of$5,750 will be used for the contract. The contract will be <br /> executed and the work completed as soon as possible after the approval of the resolution by the <br /> City Council. <br />
