i ' • •
COUNCIL COMMUNICATION FORM
Engineering & Infrastructure Memorandum
NO. 2002 -42
June 26, 2002
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Steve Garman., City Manager
Steve Swanson, P. E., Director of Engineering & Infrastructurei
Matthew C. Newell, P. E., City Engineer,,,/
SUBJECT: Water Service Agreement for 2909 Forest Crest Drive
SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing a
Water Service Agreement between the City of Decatur and property owner for 2909 Forest Crest
Drive.
BACKGROUND:
This spring the City extended a 12 inch water main down Taylorville Road (Illinois Route 48)
and Forest Crest Drive as part of a phased approach toward creating a water main interconnection
on the south side of the City between Route 48 and Route 51. The goal is to increase the stability
and reliability of overall water service in the area by creating additional connections into the
main City water system. As is typical with these extensions, residents along this water line
periodically request permission to tap into these extensions to service their properties which are
located outside of the City limits. To service these properties, a Water service Agreement must
be entered into between the City and the property owners.
POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections to this
resolution and agreement.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None
