Swimming Pool Inspection Agreement <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: The Building Inspections Division recommends <br /> approval of this agreement whereby the City Electrical Inspector(s) assist the Macon County <br /> Health Department with their annual inspection of public swimming pools. I, <br /> BACKGROUND: After the tragic death of two Decatur youths resulting from an electrical �'i <br /> problem in a local public pool it was mandated by the Illinois Department of Public Health that '�, <br /> certain protective devices be installed in the electrical systems of all public pools regulated by the '�, <br /> State. These devices would offer additional protection against electrocution if certain ', <br /> circumstances presented that danger. '� <br /> Because the Macon County Health Department does not have personnel with electrical ' <br /> knowledge they requested that the City's Building Inspection's Division assist with inspections � <br /> relating to the installation of these devices. � <br /> With approval of this agreement we will coordinate inspections with the Health <br /> Department and continue this assistance each year. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None we are aware of.
