A substantial increase in the amount and complexity of water qualitv laboratorv
testin . Over the past few years, due to the relentless increase in the amount and
complexity of Federal and State mandated water quality testing, the South Water
Treatment Plant laboratory has begun to run out of space. The Department requires
additional office space for the Assistant City Manager for Public Services and the
Department's Administrative Secretary. Currently, the Administrative Secretary's
desk is located in the South Water Treatment Plant lobby. Additional space is needed
if the Water Projects Engineer and/or support staff are to be moved to the South Plant.
Additional space is also needed if student interns are to be employed by the
Department.
A 3,800 square feet office addition and a 325 square feet laboratory expansion into existing
office space will be constructed over an approximately 12-month period.
