Newell, P.E., City Engineer .,,�I� rv"" SUBJECT: Permanent Easement Purchase for City Project 9838 Drainage Area 30 (Albany/Fulton) Storm Drainage Improvements SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing the payment of $8,000 for the purchase of a permanent easement totaling approximately 8,300 square feet from Shane L. Cole located at 3347 East Orchard Drive. The acquisition of this permanent easement is necessary for the improvement of storm drainage in Drainage Area 30, located around the Albany/Fulton neighborhood. BACKGROUND: On December 7, 1998, the City Council authorized the design of storm drainage improvements for the area generally south east of the intersection of Albany / Fulton Streets. The proposed design of these improvements have been largely completed and the City is now in the process of acquiring this final easement to provide an outfall for the area storm drainage. The attached drawing details the proposed design along with the permanent easement requested to be purchased from Mr. Cole. Storm drainage in the area has a logical outfall to the southwest as delineated by the storm drain system proposed by this project. The permanent easement desired for this work encompasses the final outfall for the proposed storm drainage improvements to be completed with this project.
