Krieger, Assistant City Mana.ger SUBJECT: ICS Agreement/Imboden Drive Repa�rs RECOMMENDATION: ' Approval of the attached agreement between the City of Decatur and International Control Services, Inc. (ICS) will help the company expand both its facility and number of employees. City staff recommends approval. ,, BACKGROUND: Located at 606 W. Imboden, ICS manufactures printed circuit boards, and currently employs 85 people. ICS is preparing to expand its current facility by constructing a 28,000 sqft addition. It is expected the expanded facility will generate a minimum of 35 new jobs within the first year, with , potential for 100 more;through additional expansion(s) and/or construction of a new facility. ICS has requested that the City make repairs to two drive approaches on Imboden Drive, and remove a third. It is expected the cost for these repairs/improvements will be less than$20,000. City staff and ICS have discussed the company's potential need for an expansion project on a much larger scale, and will continue work toward that end. ICS officials have indicated the company is in a growth mode and will likely need to pursue additional expansions and/or the construction of a new facility. POTENTIAL OBJECTION: City staff is not aware of any opposition to this agreement. INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Attached to this memorandum is the proposed agreement with ICS. BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: ICS has unmediate plans to begin construction of its facility expansion and has requested the City complete its work by August 1 of this year.
