Perry,Purchasing Supervisor d� <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for Maintenance of Electrical Power Distribution Equipment <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Dynex <br /> Industries, Inc. to furnish maintenance of electrical power distribution equipment at the South <br /> Water Treatment Plant. <br /> BACKGROUND: The City has recently experienced a problem with a high service pump motor <br /> starter which has now been conected. The Water Production city staff would like to have the <br /> . maintenance done on three year intervals per the International Electrical Testing Association <br /> (NETA) sta.ndards. <br /> The last certified inspection of this type was performed in 1993. The maintenance should <br /> identify potential hazards that could interrupt plant electrical service and iii turn affect service to <br /> our water customers. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Water Management requested the work be performed <br /> and wrote the bid specifications. They recommend approval of bid. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Ray McDannell, Water Production Maintenance Supervisor 424-2830, <br /> Deborah M. Perry, Purchasing Supervisor 424-2762. John Smith will be at the council meeting <br /> to answer any questions the council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $24,948 from Water Capital Fund. <br />
