PHASE 2: The second phase will be concerned on locating sources of extraneous flows <br /> entering the sewer system. <br /> e. Inspect all the manholes in the study area for defects which may allow the infiltration <br /> or inflow of extraneous water into the sewers. Conduct a surface inspection of the <br /> sewers. Inspections of private property where the City does not have easement or <br /> other legal authority to conduct inspections is not included in this contract. <br /> f. Smoke test the sewers to find untrapped inflow connections to the sewer that may <br /> allow rainfall runoff to enter the sewers. <br /> g. Dye test any suspected cross connections between the storm sewers and the sanitary <br /> sewer. <br /> PHASE 3: The third phase of the study will be a more intense investigation of infiltration <br /> sources. If after Phase 2, it appears necessary that areas of the sewer should be televised or <br /> that a questionnaire may be useful, the engineers will recommend to do so. <br /> h. Analyze videotapes showing the inside of the sewers. The engineer will recommend <br /> areas to be televised, but the actual televising of the sewers is not in this contract. ', <br /> i. If desired by the City,a questionnaire will be prepared for distribution by the City and I' <br /> the results will be tabulated and incorporated into the report. <br /> PHASE 4: The final phase of the study will be to summarize the findings, formulate <br /> alternatives and recommend a course of action in a final report. <br /> j. Alternative methods of eliminating the surcharging of the sewers will be formulated, <br /> compared and evaluated on a cost effective basis. The alternative of transporting and <br /> treating the excess flow will be included in the evaluation. <br /> k. The results and finding of the study will be written into a report to the City. A draft <br /> of the report will be submitted to the City. After the draft has been reviewed and the <br /> findings discussed with the Staff, the report will be finalized. Fifteen copies of the <br /> report will be delivered to the City. <br /> 2. Insurance-The ENGINEER sha11 procure and maintain for the term of this Contract, at its <br /> expense, insurance of the type and in the minimum amounts stated below: <br /> a. Workers' Compensation Statutory <br /> b.
