Quandt, Civil En ineer I ���� <br /> g '� <br /> SUBJECT: Spring Creek Channel Rehabilitation, City Project 2001-47 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution awarding the <br /> contract for Spring Creek Channel Rehabilitation, City Project 2001-47, to Willoughby <br /> Excavating, Inc., as the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of $24,994.40, and that the <br /> Mayor be authorized to execute the contract, and the City Clerk to attest. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The proposed project performs channel restoration work on the Spring Creek Channel just east of <br /> Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and east of Monroe Street at the Monroe Street flow regulating <br /> dam. This project will repair damage caused by soil erosion in the channel and dam structure. <br /> The purpose of the project is to reestablish the existing stream channel and slopes. This will be <br /> accomplished by removing sediment or placing fill as necessary and using rip rap for slope <br /> protection. <br /> The project specifications were prepared by the Engineering Division. The project was <br /> advertised on January 23, 2002 and bids were opened on February 7, 2002. The results of the <br /> letting are as follows (bid tabulation attached): <br />
