Perry,Purchasing Supervisor� <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for Compressor Replacement <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to T. A. <br /> Brinkoetter to replace two compressors at the South Water Treatment Plant. <br /> BACKGROUND: Earlier this week two compressors in the HVAC system at the South Water <br /> Treatment Plant failed. These compressors are 5 and 2 years old and have required repairs <br /> during that time. <br /> The HVAC system compressors are vital to plant operation in order to keep tempera.tures at an <br /> even level, especially in the control room. Since the compressors failed, temperatures have <br /> reached up above 80 degrees in parts of the plant. <br /> The replacement units will have a five year warranty. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Water Management requested the work. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: John Smith, Assistant City Manager of Public Services 424-2833, Ray <br /> McDannell, Water Production Maintenance Supervisor 424-2830, Deborah M.Perry, Purchasing <br /> Supervisor 424-2762. John Smith will be at the council meeting to answer any questions the <br /> council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $12,720 from Water Fund. <br />
