Alexander, Director of Water Management `� <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> South Water Treatment Plant Nitrate Removal Facility Construction Change Order 6 <br /> City Project 9953 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing Change Order 6. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> After construction started on the nitrate removal facility, design work began on the second <br /> standby (emergency) electric generator to be installed at the South Water Treatment Plant. In <br /> order to accommodate both projects, a different method of supplying electricity from the <br /> generator to the facility is required. This change order accomplishes this task. Council approval <br /> is required since the change order is in excess of $5,000. Illinois Environmental Protection <br /> Agency approval is not required since the change order is less than $25,000. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: <br /> None foreseen. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> Black&Veatch, LLP <br /> Diversified Buildings, Inc. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: <br /> Keith D.
