Newell,P.E., City Engineer��%� <br /> SUBJECT: Decatur Street Sanitary Sewer Repair, City Project 2001-51 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution awarding the <br /> contract for Decatur Street Sanitary Sewer Repair, City Project 2001-51, to Barr & Robison <br /> Sewer & Excavating, Inc., as the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of $13,002.00, and <br /> that the Mayor be authorized to execute the contract, and the City Clerk to attest. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> As part of the yearly sewer televising work being contracted through Tele-Scan, Inc., it was <br /> discovered that a portion of the 12 inch sanitary sewer pipe under Decatur Street, just west of <br /> Franklin Street, is very near collapse. City staff has prepared a project that will dig up and <br /> replace approximately 52 feet of sewer pipe. <br /> The project specifications were prepared by the Engineering Division. The project was <br /> advertised on November 7, 2001 and bids were opened on November 13, 2001.
