Perry,Purchasing Supervisor�Q <br /> SUBJECT: Bid for super duty truck equipped/service body and aerial lift <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Bob Ridings ' <br /> Inc. to furnish one (1) 2002 Ford F450 super duty truck equipped with service body and aerial � <br /> lift. <br /> BACKGROUND: Replaces a 1991 Ford super duty utility truck currently in service. The low <br /> bid of Miles Chevrolet does not meet City of Decatur specifications in the following areas: <br /> City of Decatur Miles Chevrolet.Inc. <br /> 1. The truck shall have a minimum wheel 1. 135.5 inch wheel base. This truck <br /> base of 141 inches. does not have the outriggers so <br /> a wider platform is better to <br /> support the aerial device. <br /> 2. The truck shall have a minimum of a 7.3 2. 6.5 liter engine. The truck would <br /> liter turbo diesel engine. loose horsepower with a smaller <br /> engine. <br /> 3. Minimum of 130 amp rating alternator. 3. 100 amp alternator. The safety <br /> and emergency lighting creates <br /> a draw on the battery which <br /> requires a larger alternator. <br />
