Ratekin,Assistant City Engineer(�,��� <br /> SUBJECT: Municipal Service Center Roof Repair <br /> City Project 2001-50 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution awarding the <br /> contract for the Municipal Service Center Roof Repair, City Project 2001-50, to Gates &Johnson <br /> Roofing Company, as the lowest, responsible quotation in the amount of$81,500.00, and that the <br /> Mayor be authorized to execute the contract, and the City Clerk to attest. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The City Forester along with assistance from the Engineering Division, has developed a project <br /> for repairing the roof at the Municipal Service Center (MSC). The roof on this structure is <br />� becoming worn and the determination was made to make the necessary repairs to the existing <br /> roof. <br /> City staff has chosen the solvent based product based on its longevity and flexibility. The <br />' m ri 1 will m r fl xi le and will move better with the metal roof <br /> s o l v e n t b a s e d a t e a s t a y o e e b , <br /> preventing existing leaks from reoccurring. <br /> � <br /> The Citys Engineering Division prepared the specifications for this project. A request for <br />, quotation was sent to three qualified roofing contractors. Three quotes were received and opened <br />, on Wednesday, October 24, 2001. The results are as follows: <br />
