� Prepare concept site and floor plans to represent utilization of existing space and <br /> corresponding implementation plans and costs. <br /> b Submit a written report of its facts, findings and recommendations. <br /> The decision was made by City staff to not include the City's South Water Treatment Plant <br /> building and site in the study because of the expansion under design for this facility and the <br /> nature of the operation at this site. The Water Department does have off-site and storage <br /> facilities that will have to be considered in the study, but these are generally associated with the <br /> planning for the Municipal Services Center. The Fire Department will be involved in the process <br /> but not to the level of detail as the Civic Center, Municipal Services Center and the Law <br /> Enforcement Center. Fire Station No. 1 was opened in 1995 and houses the Fire Department <br /> administrative offices. The Fire Department's present administrative and storage space needs are <br /> not as immediate as those at other City facilities. It is expected that the Fire Department will <br /> encounter space needs in the 10 and 20 year study time frames of the study. <br /> The space needs study is considered to represent an important planning tool for the City to begin <br /> to determine how it must begin to address its space needs. The recommendations obtained from <br /> this study will provide a basis for the planning and budgeting that will need to be undertaken to <br /> meet the City's current and future space needs. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: <br /> There are no known obj ectors to this action. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> Outside input was obtained in the process of performing reference checks on Hanson and Phillips <br /> Swager Associates. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: <br /> Stephen Swanson, Director of Engineering &Infrastructure at 424-2747. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> The cost of the study is an amount not to exceed $82,500.
