Berard, Civil Engineer II � <br /> SUBJECT: Lake Decatur Dam Rehabilitation Project, City Project 2000-28A <br /> Engineering Services During Construction <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: . <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution approving the <br /> award of a professional engineering services contract to Montgomery Watson Harza (formerly <br /> Harza Engineering Company) for engineering services during construction of the Lake Decatur <br /> Dam Rehabilitation Project, City Project 2000-28A, in the amount not to exceed $12,500, and <br /> that the Mayor be authorized to execute the agreement, and the City Clerk to attest. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> A contract was awarded to OCCI Inc, on Monday, September 17, 2001, for the Lake Decatur <br /> Dam Rehabilitation project which involves the following wark: <br /> • Repair rip rap at left river bank <br /> • Place rip rap at stilling basing toe <br /> • Repair cracks in concrete <br /> • Patch deteriorated concrete <br /> • Repair joints in overlay of spillway <br /> • Saw cut new joints in spillway overlay <br /> • Miscellaneous minor repair work <br /> The project specifications were prepared by Montgomery Watson Harza. City staff will be <br /> providing the day to day supervision of the contractors' activities. During the course of project, <br /> support from Montgomery Watson Harza will assist City staff in the administration of the <br /> construction contract. <br />
