Newell, P.E., City Engineer,,wv(
' SUBJECT: Waggoner& Home Park Storm Sewer Improvements, City Project 2001-48
SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution awarding the
contract for Wa oner & Home Park Storm Sewer Im rovements Cit Pro'ect 2001-48, to
gg P Y J
Bodine Services, Inc., as the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of$16,336.00, and that the
Mayor be authorized to execute the contract, and the City Clerk to attest.
BACKGROUND:
The project is located on Waggoner Street approximately 200 feet west of Home Park Avenue.
Storm runoff in the area ponds on the north side of Waggoner until it can flow to the south side
of the road and continue in an uncontrolled manner down a slope to a storm sewer inlet located
behind the existing homes.
The project will collect stortn water and convey it down the slope to outlet near the existing
storm inlet. This work will relieve the area of an ongoing runoff nuisance which has, at times,
resulted in erosion problems and property damage to adjacent homes.
The project specifications were prepared by the Engineering Division. The project was
advertised on September 26, 2001 and bids were opened on October 9, 2001. The results of the
letting are as follows (bid tabulation attached):
